M. Tomenko announced that during this parliamentary week, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine scrutinized 34 Bills among which 3 bills were adopted as a basis and 11 in the first reading. At the same time speaking on the scrutiny of the bills that were supposed to be adopted according to the election campaign of the President of Ukraine, M. Tomenko declared: "During this week 9 out of 11 bills of great social value were rejected by the coalition." According to M. Tomenko "such total rhetoric´s and discussion gives grounds to make at least two conclusions: the first one - the week, revealing all the vain election illusions, came to its end. Next one either it is the beginning of communism or the project "Ukraine for People" is being delayed for the unknown term."
M. Tomenko emphasised that it is the first time that the whole system of power and government put in the forefront banking system, modernization of the economics, entrepreneurship etc. "Though the civilized countries pay special attention to the instruments of the improvement of people´s life", he emphasised."If one evaluates "State Program on Economic and Social Development of Ukraine for the Year 2010", it seems that it, at least, delays the implementation of the election program of Victor Yanukovych for the year 2010. From such theatric promises as increase entering list of 20 most economically developed countries in tem year term, increase of population to 50 millions until the year 2020 and ending in taxation vacations for 5 years, reduction of VAT etc, hence there is no strategy of their implementation in even far away future", the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated.
Analyzing certain chapters of the Governmental program, the Deputy Chairman named the social and humanities parts of the Program shameful. "I am seriously worried about the chapters on culture, education, physical culture and sport, healthy way of living and everything that concerns this part. The same negative attitude M. Tomenko has towards the support of the informational space."
The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed hope that there would be a constructive discussion of the State Program on Economic and Social Development of Ukraine for the Year 2010 before the second reading with the consideration of the People´s Deputies´ propositions.
